Man Sought in 1990 Slaying Is Arrested
A man who fled to his family’s home in Mexico in 1990 after allegedly killing his stepdaughter and wounding her sister in Santa Ana was arrested Monday in central Mexico, police said.
Jose Luis Lopez Sr., 50, was taken into custody in Penjamo, Guanajuato, by Mexican authorities at the request of Santa Ana police and U.S. marshals, Santa Ana Police Cmdr. Baltazar De La Riva said.
The investigation into the death of Olivia Bahuman, 21, had stalled until an informant called early this year to provide information about where to find Lopez.
Lopez is now awaiting extradition, De La Riva said.
