Fitzgerald to Oppose Pringle in Mayor’s Race
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
William Fitzgerald, spokesman for an Anaheim watchdog group, will run for mayor against incumbent Curt Pringle in November, city officials said Friday.
When Councilman Harry Sidhu chose not to enter the race last month, it appeared that Pringle would run unopposed.
“I wasn’t about to run if Sidhu had run,” said Fitzgerald, a retired businessman and spokesman for Anaheim Home Owners Maintaining Their Environment.
“I didn’t want to be a spoiler.”
Fitzgerald has been a frequent critic of Pringle’s at council meetings.
