at Chicago 5, Tampa Bay 4: Tadahito Iguchi tied it with a two-out, two-run homer, and Jim Thome celebrated his return to the lineup with a go-ahead single as the White Sox scored three in the eighth to prevail. Thome had sat out five games because of a strained hamstring. Jon Garland (16-4) tied for the major league lead in victories despite giving up three first-inning runs.
