Cyprus is offered access to 2 ports
From Times Wire Reports
Turkey has offered to open a major seaport and an airport to longtime foe Cyprus to try to keep its European Union entry talks on track, Turkish and EU officials said.
The EU called the step positive but insufficient. Turkey’s refusal to open its ports has emerged as a deal breaker in its negotiations to join the European Union.
Cyprus has been divided into a Greek Cypriot-controlled south and the occupied north since Turkey invaded in 1974 after a coup attempt by supporters of union with Greece.
