Stiller and comic pals have ‘Night’ to remember

What you just might find yourself talking about: “Night at the Museum.” Big-budget comedies are always risky, but this one has a comedian for every taste. On display are the hyper Robin Williams, Owen Wilson and his laid-back charm, classic-TV icon Dick Van Dyke, the subversive Ricky Gervais and neurotic guy Ben Stiller. (Friday)

What you might get bruised talking about: “Rocky Balboa.” Sly Stallone’s decision to make (and star in) the sixth installment of the “Rocky” franchise could be a desperate attempt to relive his long-faded glory. Or is it a daring risk to prove a faded star still has what it takes? (Wednesday)

What you’ll be cocktail chattering about: The “Dexter” season finale. The riveting first season comes to an end tonight, and you’ll finally learn why Dexter has a Dark Passenger. His appetite for serial killers may be insatiable, but expect to be satisfied when the Showtime series wraps up the Ice Truck Killer story line and gives a little taste of what new challenges lie ahead for the small screen’s most memorable antihero of the year. (Tonight)

What everyone is actually still talking about: “Survivor.” If you are not a specific fan of “Survivor” (or you OD’d on the show after the 10th season) you may have thought the whole “Race War” gimmick was a desperate attempt by the producers to put the show back on the map. You may be right, but in fact, the show never really left the map -- it’s still a big hit. After all the hype, “S10” quickly dispensed with its racial-segregation gimmick and served up its traditional colorblind backstabbing and relay-race formula. (Tonight)

What you’ll be baffled about: “American Pie” lives. The franchise’s theater lifespan is comatose, but “American Pie” lives on with direct-to-DVD films. The latest is “American Pie Presents: Naked Mile” about some college race that everybody runs naked. But does it even matter anymore? Poor Eugene Levy is one of the few original cast members making an appearance, but before you smirk, know the franchise’s last direct-to-DVD offering -- “American Pie Presents: Band Camp” -- moved 1 million units in its first week on the market. (Tuesday)
