Re “Friends of elephants get serious,” Dec. 14
Animals deserve every bit of the comfort and freedom we humans do. Removing elephants from zoos and placing them in sanctuaries is a step forward toward a better future for those animals unfortunate enough to be held in captivity. I am looking forward to the day when there are no cages for any animal.
What better way to teach our children compassion for other beings than to give those beings the life they were intended to live, with the sun on their backs, with their young by their sides and with the freedom to roam as they please?
