Three vehicles, including an armored truck, crashed near Indianapolis International Airport, killing three people and scattering money across Interstate 70, state police said.

The westbound armored truck crossed the median and collided with a pickup truck and sport utility vehicle in the eastbound lanes, State Police 1st Sgt. Dave Bursten said. The pickup burst into flames, and coins and paper currency from the United Armored Services truck were thrown across the highway.

Two people in the armored truck and the pickup truck driver were killed. A man, woman and two children in an SUV that was also hit were not seriously hurt, Bursten said.
