The toll injuries have taken on USC’s roster was again evident Friday in a 62-53 loss to 15th-ranked California in a Pacific 10 Conference matchup at the Galen Center.

The Trojans (6-6, 0-2), who trailed only 28-26 at halftime, shot a season-low 29.7% from the field. Ashley Walker had 17 points and 13 rebounds for Cal (9-2, 1-1), which made 22 of 31 free throws. USC made nine of 14 from the line.

Eshaya Murphy led the Trojans with 17 points before fouling out. With point guard Jamie Hagiya in foul trouble and freshman Hailey Dunham sidelined because of a back injury suffered Wednesday, USC handed the reins to walk-on Nicole Berberet.
