Three teenage boys were arrested on suspicion of armed robbery after allegedly stealing a skateboard from two 12-year-old boys while pointing a fake gun at them Monday in Manhattan Beach, police said.

A 16-year-old and two brothers, 15 and 16, were in a black SUV about 8 p.m. when they allegedly approached the victims at the corner of Peck and Mathews avenues, Manhattan Beach Police Det. Sgt. Steve Tobias said.

Police said that one teen pointed a fake gun at the boys through a passenger window and demanded their skateboards. After one boy handed over his skateboard, the suspects drove away.

A short time later, police arrested the brothers at their home in El Segundo, after finding the SUV parked in the driveway.

Police found a replica semi-automatic handgun during a search of the house, where the teens live with their father. They also found the skateboard in the SUV, Tobias said. The victims identified the SUV and the two brothers, police said.

The 16 year-old, a Manhattan Beach resident, was arrested at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mira Costa High School, which is near the crime scene.

The teenagers are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning at Inglewood Juvenile Court.
