Beijing Issues First Guidelines on HIV

In its first official regulations on how to prevent and control the spread of the AIDS virus, China has mandated free testing and medication for the country’s poor.
The statute issued by the State Council, China’s Cabinet, protects HIV/AIDS patients from discrimination and makes it illegal to intentionally spread the disease, the official New China News Agency said. It takes effect March 1.
