Bryson Krueger’s three-point basket with 10.5 seconds left in the second overtime led Arizona State to a 65-64 victory over California on Saturday night at Berkeley, denying the Golden Bears a chance to take sole possession of first place in the Pacific 10 Conference.

The last-place Sun Devils (10-14 overall, 4-11 Pac-10) outhustled the Golden Bears for loose balls and made the big shots when they needed them to get the upset.

This marked the second time this season that California (16-7, 10-4) lost at home the game after moving into first place. After starting 3-0, the Bears lost last month to Oregon State.

It looked as if Cal had taken control in the second overtime when Ayinde Ubaka ended a nearly eight-minute stretch without a basket with 2:25 remaining.

Ubaka then fed DeVon Hardin for a dunk on the next possession, making the score 64-60.

But Kevin Kruger scored to cut it to two with 1:01 left and Leon Powe missed two free throws -- his only misses in 15 attempts -- to give Arizona State the chance.

Krueger then made the three-pointer from the corner to give the Sun Devils the lead. Ubaka missed on Cal’s final possession.

Krueger scored 19 points, Kruger had 16 and Jeff Pendergraph had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Sun Devils, who lost by 30 points at home last month to the Golden Bears.

Powe led the Golden Bears with 23 points and 10 rebounds, Hardin had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Ubaka scored 12.

California had won six in a row in the conference and 11 of 12 overall at home this season.

No. 20 Washington 96, Oregon State 63 -- The victory at Corvallis, Ore., gave the Huskies (20-5, 9-5) their first consecutive 20-win seasons since 1984-85.

Brandon Roy’s layup and free throw capped a 12-2 run that put Washington ahead, 79-54, midway through the second half as the game slid out of reach for the Beavers (11-15, 4-11), who have lost seven of their last nine games since losing senior point guard Lamar Hurd to a groin injury.

Roy scored 25 points and had nine assists for Washington, which won its fourth in a row.

The Gill Coliseum crowd of 9,512 started filing out when Brandon Burmeister’s layup made it 87-56 for the Huskies, who shot 53.6%.

Oregon 67, Washington State 37 -- The Ducks (12-15, 6-9) took a 44-22 lead on Malik Hairston’s layup at 11:49 of the second half at Eugene, Ore. The Cougars (11-12, 4-10) put together an 11-2 run, but the Ducks countered with a 10-0 run to clinch the victory.
