Autodesk CEO Bartz to Step Down After 14 Years

Autodesk Inc., whose design software is used in architecture, video and moviemaking, said Chief Executive Carol Bartz would step down after 14 years to be replaced by operating chief Carl Bass.

Bartz, CEO and chairwoman since April 1992, is one of the longest-serving female leaders of a U.S. high-tech firm. She will be San Rafael, Calif.-based Autodesk’s executive chairwoman after Bass replaces her May 1.
