The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Bahrain and Iraq:

Mitchell K. Carver Jr., 31, of Charlotte, N.C.; chief warrant officer, Army. Carver was one of two soldiers killed Jan. 13 when their Kiowa Warrior helicopter was attacked with small-arms fire and crashed while on combat patrol with another U.S. helicopter in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Kasper A. Dudkiewicz, 22, of Mangilao, Guam; private first class, Army. Dudkiewicz was killed Jan. 15 when his Humvee was struck by a civilian vehicle and flipped over in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 511th Military Police Company, 91st Military Police Battalion, 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Ruel M. Garcia, 34, of Wahiawa, Hawaii; chief warrant officer, Army. Garcia was one of two soldiers killed Monday when their Apache helicopter was shot down while on patrol in Taji, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment (Attack), Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Kyle E. Jackson, 28, of Sarasota, Fla.; chief warrant officer, Army. Jackson was one of two soldiers killed Jan. 13 when their Kiowa Warrior helicopter was attacked with small-arms fire and crashed while on combat patrol with another U.S. helicopter in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Drum, N.Y.

Michael Anthony Jordan, 35, of Augusta, Ga.; petty officer first class, Navy. Jordan was killed Jan. 13 in an automobile accident in Manama, Bahrain. He was assigned to Destroyer Squadron 50 in Bahrain, which is home to several hundred U.S. sailors whose missions include supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Dustin L. Kendall, 21, of Conway, Mo.; specialist, Army. Kendall was killed Jan. 15 when his Humvee struck an Abrams tank and rolled over in Baqubah, Iraq, northeast of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Rex C. Kenyon, 34, of El Segundo; chief warrant officer, Army. Kenyon was one of two soldiers killed Monday when their Apache helicopter was shot down while on patrol in Taji, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 4th Aviation Regiment (Attack), Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Jonathan K. Price, 19, of Woodlawn, Ill.; lance corporal, Marine Corps. Price was killed Jan. 13 when he was attacked with small-arms fire during combat in Ramadi, Iraq, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Adam R. Shepherd, 21, of Somerville, Ohio; private first class, Army. Shepherd died of a non-combat-related illness Tuesday in Baghdad. The Defense Department did not disclose his illness, and said his death was under investigation. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, Ky.

Justin J. Watts, 20, of Crownsville, Md.; corporal, Marine Corps. Watts died Jan. 14 from an apparently nonhostile gunshot wound in Haditha, Iraq, northwest of Baghdad. The Defense Department said his death was under investigation. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton. As part of Operation Iraqi Freedom, his unit was attached to the 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.
