Record deal: Chris Daughtry, who finished fourth on “American Idol” last season, has signed with music mogul Clive Davis in conjunction with 19 Recordings Unlimited, the label managed by “Idol” creator Simon Fuller, RCA Records announced Monday.

Surgery: Singer LeAnn Rimes was scheduled to have surgery in L.A. today for a leg infection, forcing her to cancel three concerts scheduled this week in Hampton Beach, N.H., and Niagara Falls.
