Conservation care

Share

IT is refreshing to read of sophisticated collectors who understand the importance of video and new-media art -- whether monumental and spiritual (Bill Viola and “Tristan and Isolde”), or whimsical (Peter Fischli and David Weiss and “The Way Things Go”) -- as a vehicle for lifting us above daily life and aiding us as we strive to keep our life duties in a focused perspective [“Call the Tech Squad,” July 9].

However, it is more refreshing to know they understand and accept the importance of their fiduciary responsibility to the public in the maintenance and conservation of their acquisitions. Brava and bravo.
