Even Superman has to tell lies

Your Tell column [“What’s Not to Like, He’s Superman,” July 13] was very amusing, although Samantha Bonar slipped up on reason No. 3 [“He cannot tell a lie.”].

Come on! Women have to be lied to. They want it. They need it! For example:

“Honey, do I look fat in this dress?”

“Sweetheart, do you think Wonder Woman is pretty?”

“So, darling, what do you think of my mother?”

Imagine any poor sap being truthful to these and countless other questions. Besides, why does Mr. Honesty deceive people by passing himself off as a regular guy? How honest is that?

No. 6 [“No in-laws!”] sounds like heaven, though. Thanks for the chuckle.
