Steve Alexander, the owner of a public relations firm in La Jolla, has been selected president of the Medical Board of California.
Alexander, an appointee of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, said his goals for his yearlong term include restructuring the 21-member board, streamlining enforcement actions, and encouraging physicians and hospitals to quickly report medical errors to patients.
The medical board issues licenses and investigates complaints for California’s 120,000 licensed physicians.
