From Times Wire Reports

San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds was listed as day to day Wednesday because of discomfort from injuring his left side during last weekend’s series in New York.

The injury has become worse, and Bonds grimaced after a swing during Tuesday night’s victory over the Florida Marlins.

He was already scheduled for a day off Wednesday for the finale of a three-game series with the Marlins, but his status for a four-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates starting today was in question after he was examined by team doctors.

“I don’t know yet,” Bonds said when asked about the severity of his injury.

Bonds said that he didn’t tell the Giants’ training staff about his sore side until Wednesday morning, so he wasn’t sure how the injury would be treated.
