Thousands Rally in Support of President
From Times Wire Reports
Thousands of people waved flags and blew air horns at a street rally in Taipei to support President Chen Shui-bian, but the demonstration was smaller than one held a week ago by opposition leaders seeking to oust Chen over allegations that his family is involved in corruption.
Police estimated that 13,000 people took part in the event in front of the Presidential Office, compared with the 20,000 at the opposition protest last weekend.
