Family Who Died in Apartment Fire ID’d

A family of three who died in a predawn apartment fire March 3 was identified by the Los Angeles County coroner Tuesday as 13-year-old Duke Yi and his parents, Kyung Won Yi, 43, and Chong Kwan Yi, 44.
The fire, which occurred in the 500 block of South Ardmore Avenue, burned the victims beyond recognition, and several days passed before officials obtained the dental records used to identify the victims.
Arson investigators said the fire appeared to have been accidental but its cause was under investigation.
