Even better than budget hotels

Share

SUSAN SPANO’S observations are always interesting, and, yes, you can write about restaurants and places to stay, not just the merits of the destination [“Restaurants, Hotels Are Not Destinations,” Letters, March 5]. After all, just about any guidebook can tell why a place is worth visiting.

Where to stay and what to eat are part of the trip, and not always a given. One option that renders this enjoyable is not just budget hotels, but renting apartments or homes: It is not only cheaper, but you can do your breakfast on your own, make picnics to enjoy the sights and have a nice place to relax when you get back.
