Limbaugh lament

Re “Limbaugh Takes a Deal on Prescription Fraud,” May 2

It is unfortunate that, with his ready-made bully pulpit, Rush Limbaugh does not choose to discuss his painkiller addiction and the ramifications it has had on his life and health. Here is an opportunity for a public commentator and celebrity to publicize the disease of narcotic addiction and reach out with compassion and understanding to others who suffer silently or who are engaged in a fight for their lives against this disease.

I find it hard to believe that the information Limbaugh could share, and the public awareness he could raise, trump his personal pride as he continues to couch his situation in terms of “guilt” and “innocence.”
