It’s a Day Tailor-Made for Ray-Bans
Friday is May Ray Day. This is a double-duty holiday, for people named Ray and people who enjoy sunshine, which in some states isn’t widespread until May. David Warner, who works at Unique Tan in West Hollywood, sees a marketing opportunity: “Bring us your Rays, we’ll give you ours.” If that doesn’t make sense, he suggests staying home, mixing up a pitcher of margaritas and watching “Ray,” starring Jamie Foxx as the late great Ray Charles, at right. Foxx won the best actor Oscar for the role and played the piano in the 2004 movie (he began taking lessons as a young boy), but nobody sings like the man himself. We suggest listening to anything performed by Charles, including, on this holiday in particular, “You Are My Sunshine.”
