Re “Schools chief to get $300,000 a year,” Oct. 31
It’s outrageous enough that a man with no education experience has been given this position at all. But to reward him with a housing allowance, a car and, more insulting yet, an annual expense account equal to what many teachers make in a year is unconscionable.
Teachers manage to take care of their housing and cars and expenses on a salary one-sixth of his, all the while providing their students with supplies paid for out of their own pocketbooks. Just what is David L. Brewer supposed to spend his $300,000 salary on?
