Police official found dead in Tijuana
From Times Wire Reports
A district police chief in Tijuana was shot to death a day after surviving an attempt on his life, Mexican media reported.
The body of Hector Gaxiola was found beside that of his brother in a vacant lot. Both had been shot dozens of times.
Seventeen Tijuana police officers have been killed so far this year, with many of the deaths believed to be linked to turf battles among drug gangs.
