Flames beat Canucks and win fourth in a row

Kristian Huselius scored with 3:32 left to lift the Calgary Flames to a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 on Saturday night at Vancouver, Canada.

Matthew Lombardi skated around defenseman Lukas Krajicek and dropped the puck into the slot, where Huselius batted a backhander through a screen and over Roberto Luongo’s glove.

Jarome Iginla scored late in the second period and helped set up Rhett Warrener’s tying goal early in the third as the Flames overcame an early 2-0 deficit to win their fourth in a row.

Miikka Kiprusoff was back in goal for Calgary one game after a 37-save shutout to end Anaheim’s NHL-record 16 games with at least a point to start a season. The Canucks have lost five of six.

San Jose 2, Phoenix 1 -- Steve Bernier and Patrick Marleau scored in the second period to rally the Sharks past the Coyotes at Glendale, Ariz.

Vesa Toskala stopped all 25 shots he faced in the last two periods after replacing Evgeni Nabokov, who left with a stiff neck after the first. Nabokov had 13 saves in the opening period.

Yanic Perreault scored late in the first period to give Phoenix a 1-0 lead.

Nashville 1, Colorado 0 -- Chris Mason made a career-high 42 saves for his fourth career shutout and Scottie Upshall scored his second goal to lead the Predators at Nashville.

Carolina 6, Pittsburgh 2 -- Rod Brind’Amour had a goal and an assist at Raleigh, N.C., and the Hurricanes improved to 9-3-2 in their last 14 games.

Buffalo 5, Philadelphia 4 -- Daniel Briere scored on a slap shot 21 seconds into overtime to lift the Sabres past the last-place Flyers at Philadelphia.

Toronto 5, Montreal 1 -- Bryan McCabe scored two power-play goals and assisted on another at Toronto to help the Maple Leafs win their fourth in a row.

Boston 4, Ottawa 3 -- Glen Murray scored two goals and Patrice Bergeron got the winner with 6:28 remaining to lead the Bruins to victory at Boston.

Washington 3, New York Rangers 1 -- Alex Ovechkin scored his team-high 11th goal and Boyd Gordon had a goal and an assist at Washington to help the Capitals win for the third time in four games.

New Jersey 4, Florida 2 -- Patrik Elias and Zach Parise scored power-play goals in the first period to lead the Devils to victory at East Rutherford, N.J.

Tampa Bay 5, Atlanta 3 -- Vincent Lecavalier scored a goal and Martin St. Louis had two assists to help the Lightning to victory at Tampa, Fla.
