Sabres reach 10-0 on road with win

The Buffalo Sabres got their 10th straight road win since the season began, getting a go-ahead goal from Adam Mair in the third period to beat the Carolina Hurricanes, 7-4, Monday at Raleigh, N.C.
The Sabres extended their NHL record for most consecutive road wins to start a season.
Rod Brind’Amour tied it 3-3 for Carolina at 6:23 in the third period, but Buffalo took control on goals by Mair, Derek Roy and Paul Gaustad in a six-minute stretch.
Montreal 6, Ottawa 3 -- Rookie Guillaume Latendresse scored power-play goals 31 seconds apart in the third period in a victory at Ottawa.
Cristobal Huet made 35 saves, including 16 in the first period.
Pittsburgh 3, Philadelphia 2 -- Evgeni Malkin scored with 2:03 left at Pittsburgh to help end the Penguins’ five-game losing streak and hand the Flyers their sixth straight loss.
Edmonton 2, Colorado 1 -- Ryan Smyth scored twice during a 1:53 span in the second period -- including the Oilers’ first short-handed goal -- and Dwayne Roloson had 32 saves at Denver.
Washington 4, Florida 1 -- Dainius Zubrus scored two goals and Olaf Kolzig stopped 44 shots for the Capitals at Sunrise, Fla.
