Male chimps will fight over older females

Male chimpanzees prefer to have sex with older females, U.S. researchers have found.
Male chimps chase down and fight over the oldest females, anthropologist Martin Muller and colleagues at Boston University reported this week in the journal Current Biology. Older female chimps are more dominant socially and have access to better food and are therefore more likely to conceive, Muller said.
