Rethinking T.J.’s thinking

Share

I’m an insensitive swine. For years I’ve been writing to The Times and railing against the inanities that appear on a regular basis in T.J. Simers’ column, demanding that he be fired.

It took poor T.J.’s Monday column attacking Grady Little for having a successful season before the tumblers finally fell into place: the total lack of logic in blaming a manager for being right about his lineup decisions, the inability to follow a cohesive thought for even a sentence or two as he savaged Grady for winning a game T.J. thought he should have lost, the general synaptic disconnect that allows one to add two and two together and get 11.

I should have figured things out long before this. So let me recant in the most humble way and let me say that I applaud the Los Angeles Times and its management for their decision to continue to employ someone with massive brain injuries. So, bravo, Times! Keep up the good work. And T.J., on whatever level you’re able to comprehend what I’m saying, I’m sorry.
