Get a little Luv on the Eastside

It’s about time for some Eastside Luv, the name of a brand-new wine and cheese bar in Boyle Heights. Think El Carmen, without the wrestling. It’s classy without being stuffy. And smoking alert: It has a cigar machine and an outdoor patio that’s so spacious it doubles as a house party. Eastside Luv also scored a cabaret license, so look for some girls to start shaking their booties there soon.

But scenester Cesar Hernandez says if you’re afraid of the Eastside, don’t show up. Bah humbug. He says his favorite new watering hole is way off the beaten path in Gardena: the Knotty Pine. He says to stay away from there too. Bah humbug redux.

They reign over pours

Stay tuned for the next Cedd Moses-Ricki Kline collaboration, 7 Grand, an Irish whiskey bar, to open in downtown L.A. in November. They also brought downtown the Golden Gopher and Broadway Bar, the latter of which keeps popping up in a national ad....Sunset Beach is luring them in with its largeness. The new spot at the old Dublin’s in WeHo seems as big as Costco -- it just goes on for days.

Beholding beauties

Oooh, it’s getting down to the wire. In November, Beauty Bar in Hollywood unveils its latest vixens in the “Drop Dead Gorgeous” beauty pageant series. Past judges have included Kato Kaelin, Barry Williams and Jesse Camp. The latest round will be hosted by the drag hostess with the mostess, Alexis Arquette, on Nov. 5.... DJ Vice fans will find him on Tuesday nights at Element in Hollywood....TSOL’s Greg Kuehn was impressed at how well the stage area ran at the Key Club Morongo. Turns out, his old pal Kurt Ross from the Flamethrowers now runs the club. The Flamethrowers were a trashy rock band in the early ‘90s, and TSOL was in the house, opening up for Rancid.

Lucky Tiki adrift

Lucky Tiki in Mission Hills is RIP. Owned by the cats behind the Little Cave, Bigfoot Lodge and Saints & Sinners, the hot bar at the funky location has been sold to a development company. Now, they’re looking for locations in the Valley and downtown L.A. to relocate the famed island-themed bar, as well as all that original hand-carved art by famed artist Crazy Al.... Here’s the photo op of the month: all the kids in Misfits T-shirts lined up outside the Key Club waiting get in to see the legendary band at the WeHo club for their Oct. 22 concert. We chatted up Misfits’ bassist Jerry Only, and ladies, the way to his heart is through football. Know your stats.... Dragonforce played a surprise show at Metal Skool at the Key Club on Monday night. The singer of Shadows Fall even got up and sang a lick. And once again, Steve-O of “Jackass” fame proved why he’s Steve-O of “Jackass” fame.
