Nunez is on the Angelides team
Re “The Demopublicans,” editorial, Oct. 19
The notion that Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez has abandoned State Treasurer Phil Angelides’ campaign for governor is contradicted by the facts. The speaker is co-chairman of the Angelides campaign. He has attended numerous public and fundraising events with the treasurer. He has loaned his senior staff to the Angelides campaign and been a significant financial backer. Democrats, including the speaker, are strongly united behind the Angelides campaign.

Re “Angelides Steps Up Attacks on Gov.,” Oct. 19
While you report that Angelides is trailing far behind Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, causing him to attack the governor, I wonder if anyone noticed that the governor is planning to go to India. His promise is “to create kind of a whole team of 100 business leaders, and we’re going to come to India and see in which areas we can explore expansion and better working relationships and so on because we love the people in India.”
What about us? Wake up, Californians. This can only mean more of our jobs will be exported to India. This is what Schwarzenegger stands for. Talk about a wolf in sheep’s clothing. You won’t have to worry about paying taxes if you don’t have a job.
