The playoffs at Dodger Stadium: Priceless. Making sure you can buy a ticket for the playoffs at Dodger Stadium: $99.95.

With the Dodgers on the verge of a playoff berth and a franchise attendance record, ticket demand is surging. They have sold 26,000 season tickets, and those customers get first chance to buy tickets for any playoff games at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers also offer playoff tickets to fans that reserve season seats for 2007, with a minimum deposit of $500 for two seats.

But fans that do not commit to season seats can jump toward the head of the playoff ticket line for $99.95, the price of the top membership level in the Dodger Fan Reward Club. Members get points as they spend money with the Dodgers and affiliated merchants, with points redeemable for tickets, memorabilia and even a batting practice session.

Yet, as October approaches, fans might join strictly for access to playoff tickets, available one day before the general public can buy them.

“It’s definitely a benefit,” said Marty Greenspun, the Dodgers’ chief operating officer.

Greenspun said fans that do not sign up for the club, or for season seats, should not fear that playoff tickets might sell out before the general public can buy them.

“We’ll always have tickets available to the general public,” he said. “That doesn’t mean everyone is going to get one.”

Rookie Matt Kemp had two home runs off Colorado starter Aaron Cook. Manager Grady Little said rookie James Loney would start at first base today in place of Nomar Garciaparra.

The Boston Red Sox had asked for Kemp in a proposed trade for David Wells, although he didn’t see it on TV or read about it in the newspaper.

“My mom called me and told me,” Kemp said.

With NASCAR racing at California Speedway, Jeff Gordon’s pit crew visited with Little at Dodger Stadium on Saturday. Gordon is one of several drivers for Hendrick Motor Sports.

Little, who lives in in North Carolina, said he roots not so much for Gordon but for Hendrick.

“When I go to a race, they’re the ones that get me my tickets,” Little said, grinning.
