Records -- Chivas USA 8-7-11, FC Dallas 14-8-4.
Record vs FC Dallas -- 1-1-1.
Update -- The teams tied, 1-1, at the Home Depot Center on Saturday night when Chivas USA managed a late goal by Juan Pablo Garcia. “They threw a lot of bodies forward toward the end and we just couldn’t hang on,” Dallas Coach Colin Clarke said. A victory for Dallas tonight would make it the first team in the Western Conference to clinch a playoff spot. Midfielder Francisco “Paco” Palencia returns for Chivas after a one-game suspension, but teammate Johnny Garcia, signed two weeks ago, still is waiting to make his MLS debut after sustaining a right quadriceps strain. He is listed as “probable” tonight. For Dallas, striker Carlos Ruiz returns after serving a one-game suspension. With six games to play, Chivas USA’s 11 ties are two shy of the league record held by the Columbus Crew.
