Acknowledging economic recovery
Thank you for a nonpartisan, objective editorial on the recovery of the U.S. economy in the five years since Sept 11, 2001 (Sept. 13).
You acknowledge “five years of strong productivity and corporate profits, a booming real estate market and rising trade volumes” and attribute this to solid “Fed policy and tax cuts.” You could have mentioned all-time-high private homeownership and incredibly low unemployment and given President Bush his rightful credit, but I thank you for the things you did acknowledge. Maybe The Times is starting to catch up with our times.
