The mere increase of 143 black students offered admission to UCLA’s freshman class provokes skepticism in the mind of former UC Regent Ward Connerly. Once again, Connerly stands with his foot firmly at the door of opportunity for the minority student. Did he consider that black students might be working harder to achieve in this so-called land of opportunity? Let me remind Connerly that not everyone has legacy entitlement to ensure their travel toward the land of opportunity.
