GOP is mired in political scandals

Re “Key Bush aides’ e-mail may be lost,” April 12
It’s becoming quite clear with every new political scandal that the GOP has hatched a plan to privatize the White House by issuing laptop computers provided by the Republican National Committee.
Apparently the GOP wanted to have the United States turned into a permanent Republican majority and illegally bypass the Hatch Act. Federal employees may not engage in political activity while on duty or in a government office. Also, federal employees may not use official authority or influence to interfere with an election. It certainly appears that’s what the U.S. attorneys’ controversy is all about.
The thousands of lost e-mails make President Nixon’s 18 minutes of missing tape look like a mosquito compared to today’s GOP elephant.

With all the problems and scandals that have plagued the White House (Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, Valerie Plame, U.S. attorneys, e-mails, shooting an old man in the face, Karl Rove, “Scooter” Libby, Jack Abramoff and more), I think that it might be time to stop trying to ferret out all the incompetent or dishonest members of the Bush administration and just concentrate on the honest and ethical ones. How long could that take? That list would have, what, two or three names on it at the most?
