* at Chicago 12, San Diego 4: On a night when the Cubs shook up their lineup, Alfonso Soriano left in the fifth inning after injuring his left hamstring while attempting a diving catch. The initial diagnosis was a strain, and the Cubs hoped to know more after an MRI exam today. Jason Marquis (1-1) gave up one run in six innings to win for the first time in three starts since joining the Cubs. The biggest lineup change was moving Jacque Jones from right field to left and dropping him to sixth in the batting order. Matt Murton started in right, batted cleanup and delivered two hits and two RBIs.

* Pittsburgh 3, at St. Louis 2: Albert Pujols popped up with the bases loaded for the final out, and the Pirates rode Ian Snell (1-1), who threw seven innings of three-hit ball. Xavier Nady had two RBIs. Salomon Torres escaped a bases-loaded jam in the ninth for his fifth save.

* Milwaukee 10, at Cincinnati 6: Bill Hall broke out of a one-for-22 slump with his first career grand slam off reliever Todd Coffey in the seventh inning.

* at Houston 4, Florida 3: Morgan Ensberg singled home the winning run with the bases loaded in the ninth inning. Right before his big hit, Ensberg hit a foul popup down the right-field line that should have been caught. But Marlins right fielder Joe Borchard crashed into Dan Uggla, knocking the ball loose.

* at Washington 5, Atlanta 1: Giving up one run in five innings innings despite walking five and striking out none, Matt Chico earned his first major league victory. Dmitri Young had three hits and two RBIs.

* New York at Philadelphia, ppd. rain: The game was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on June 29.

* San Francisco 8, at Colorado 0: At Denver, Mark Sweeney got his 140th pinch hit to move into fifth on the career list.

* Dodgers 5, at Arizona 1: At Phoenix, Russell Martin extended his hitting streak to eight games.
