The casting changes on John Woo’s new epic, “Red Cliff,” are beginning to resemble a game of musical chairs.

First, former Cannes best actor winner Tony Leung Chiu-wai dropped out, then “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” star Chow Yun-Fat.

But an investor in the movie said Thursday that Leung is returning to the $80-million Chinese film out of respect for his friendship with Woo. Adding to the confusion, Leung will now play Chow’s role, Gen. Zhou Yu.
