* Randy Johnson makes his return to Arizona official Tuesday, when he is scheduled to make his season debut for the Diamondbacks. Johnson, 43, pitched six seasons for Arizona before spending the last two with the Yankees. He had back surgery in October.

* One year ago today, the Milwaukee Brewers tied a major league record with five home runs in one inning, joining the 1939 New York Giants, 1949 Philadelphia Phillies and 1961 San Francisco Giants. All four teams did it against the Cincinnati Reds.

* Alex Rodriguez had 12 home runs through Friday, joining Mike Schmidt in 1976 as the fastest to a dozen. How impressive has he been? Consider that there were 11 major league teams -- including the Angels and Dodgers -- that had not out-homered A-Rod.
