OCTA to gauge traffic at end of 55 Freeway
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Transportation planners on Monday hired a consultant to examine traffic congestion where the 55 Freeway ends at 19th Street in Costa Mesa.
The Orange County Transportation Authority board unanimously approved paying $275,000 to LSA Associates, an Irvine planning and engineering firm.
The 14-month study will evaluate ways to alleviate the traffic bottleneck at 19th Street and Newport Boulevard, where more than 100,000 vehicles pass daily.
