* at Florida 6, Houston 5 (12 innings): Miguel Cabrera scored the winning run from second base on a wild pitch that bounced into the Marlins dugout with two out in the 12th. With two out, Stephen Randolph intentionally walked Cabrera, who then took second on a wild pitch. After working a 2-and-1 count on Mike Jacobs, Randolph threw another wild pitch that bounced away from catcher Eric Munson and trickled into the Marlins dugout, allowing Cabrera to score.

* at Atlanta 6, Colorado 4: Tim Hudson stopped another losing skid, pitching seven scoreless innings and hitting a two-run single for the Braves. Hudson made his 12th start following an Atlanta loss. The Braves are 10-2 in those games. This time, Hudson stopped a two-game losing streak.

* at Chicago 6, New York 2: Ryan Theriot legged out an RBI-infield single with two out that started a six-run third inning. The Cubs have the league’s best record since June 30 at 36-20.

* Cincinnati 9, at Pittsburgh 8 (10 innings): Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer in the 10th. It came an inning after Jeff Keppinger’s solo homer sent the game to extra innings.

* at Milwaukee 6, Philadelphia 5: Prince Fielder hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning, and the Brewers came back from a four-run deficit to remain in first place in the Central Division.

* at Washington 12, St. Louis 1: Ryan Zimmerman hit two home runs, and Joel Hanrahan had a two-run double in his first major league win.

* Arizona 8, at Dodgers 7: Derek Lowe has yielded 11 unearned runs, the most on the Dodgers’ staff.
