Morning Briefing: In Monday’s Sports section, a Morning Briefing item said that Mark McFarlane paid $3 million for the ball Mark McGwire hit for his record-setting 70th home run in 1998. It was Todd McFarlane. In the same Morning Briefing, TNT’s Bill Kratzert was quoted as saying, “When I receive [high-tech] golf clubs in the mail, I just use the box.” Kratzert was actually talking about a high-tech device that helps to align one’s swing and said he uses the box to align his swing instead.
