Experimental MS vaccine is promising

An experimental vaccine against multiple sclerosis appears to be safe and may produce beneficial changes in the brains and immune systems of patients with MS, Canadian researchers reported this week in the Archives of Neurology.

Some patients appeared to have fewer immune cells attacking their nerves, a hallmark of MS, the researchers said. A larger trial has begun to test the vaccine’s efficacy.
