‘Once’ too many

Re “One Chance Was Enough for ‘Once’ ” (July 29): “Once” has got to be one of the worst movies of the 21st century, ranking right up there with “Sideways” as an over-hyped, lifeless, laughless, mushy piece of nothing.
It’s simply an insufferably long music video not even worthy of rotation on MTV. It’s stillborn still life. Nothing happens in the film, and I mean nothing. Just a couple of sappy lovebirds brought together under about the most unbelievable and laughable pretext ever brought to the big screen -- he’s a vacuum repairman and she has a broken vacuum. What century are they living in?
