Girl, 16, dies after being shot in head near party
A 16-year-old girl who was shot in the head at a large party Friday night has died, officials said Saturday.
Police found her on the sidewalk in the 2000 block of Lincoln Avenue after receiving an 11 p.m. call about shots fired. She died at Huntington Hospital.
Pasadena Police Lt. John Dewar said detectives believe the girl was a bystander among partygoers who went outside when an “altercation started. We’re not sure what started it. Guns came out.” Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at (626) 744-7113.
Pasadena has had a string of gang-related shootings in the city’s northwestern district over the last year and a half.
