Yucca Mountain: An article in Sunday’s Section A on the environmental impact of a federal nuclear waste plan said that some shipments to the Nevada dump would travel on Interstate 40 and then up the Cajon Pass, either by truck or rail. Shipments up the Cajon Pass would enter California on Interstate 10 or via a southern rail route, or would come from within California. Shipments coming from out of state on I-40 would move through the Mojave Desert to Yucca Mountain. The story also said the dump would hold 70 metric tons of waste. The correct figure is 70,000 metric tons.
