Hospital regains its accreditation
A national healthcare accrediting body has restored Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center to full accreditation status, officials said Tuesday.
The nonprofit Joint Commission last month downgraded the county-run hospital in Downey to provisional accreditation because of problems with its medical documentation.
The hospital had submitted data to the commission that did not meet standards for avoiding the use of unapproved abbreviations in medical documents. Those problems have been fixed, a commission spokeswoman said.
