Tool of democracy
Re “Taking the initiative on traffic,” Dec. 10
When wealthy developers are against allowing people to vote on large projects -- projects that would worsen traffic to yet greater unacceptable levels -- those developers are telling us one of two things: The project doesn’t meet planning standards, and/or they do not think voters would ever approve the proposed project.
Initiatives are a unique tool of democracy: The voters get to decide.
