Re “L.A. may limit size of big homes,” Dec. 11
The proposed ordinance doesn’t stop mansionization, it legitimizes it. In many neighborhoods, it would allow houses to be built more than twice the size of the median older home. This is not what L.A. residents had in mind when we asked for limits. L.A. won’t maintain the scale and character of neighborhoods, or cut its carbon footprint, if houses double in size and cover ever more land.
