Rainn Wilson to host Spirit Awards

Film Independent didn’t simply get a waiver from the Writers Guild of America to put on its annual Spirit Awards, it went out and got a WGA member to host the event: Rainn Wilson, better known to the public as one of the stars of the NBC comedy series “The Office.”
The ceremony to honor the best independent films of 2007 will be held in Santa Monica on Feb. 23, and broadcast live on IFC and on tape delay on AMC.
